    Detection of errors in photo electoral rolls
    Door to door survery from Mar 2 to 20

    Imphal, February 27, 2010: A door to door survery for detection of errors in the current photo electoral rolls and making correction therein will be carried out in Manipur from March 2 to 20, informed the Chief Electoral Officer, Manipur, PC Lawmkunga and appealed to the JAC of AMTUC and AMGEO to extend necessary cooperation.

    In a statement, the CEO informed that a Booth Level Officer (BLO) appointed by the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) concerned will visit every household to record any errors in elector's particulars such as age, sex, relationship, photo, etc.

    in the electoral roll and report back to the ERO concerned for necessary corrections.

    The BLO may be accompanied and assisted by some Booth Level Agents (BLA) appointed by recognised political parties, the CEO stated.

    He fervently appealed to the JAC of AMTUC and AMGEO to extend necessary cooperation to all officials appointed as BLOs.

    He also appealed to all electors in Manipur to cooperate with the BLOs and also BLAs during their door to door survery from March 2 to 20 so that an accurate and error free electoral roll is maintained in the state.
