Imphal, November 22 2009: As in the previous years, 61st NCC Day was observed today at NCC Group Headquarters in DM College campus under the aegis of NCC Imphal Group.

In his speech, chief guest of the function, CO of 14th Manipur Bn NCC Imphal Lt Col SK Sapam pointed out the falsity of the notion that joining NCC means that the cadets would join active service later.

The basic purpose of joining NCC is to make youngsters qualified and responsible citizens.

NCC cadets have been serving the people in different crisis situation, particularly in times of natural calamities, SK Sapam said while pledging that the same service would be extended in future.

Claiming that NCC certificate holders are now in great demand for private company jobs, he pointed that bonus marks are reserved for NCC certificate holders in several competitive exams.

The function presided by Principal of Kendriya Vidyalaya Lamphelpat RL Lamdin also featured different cultural programmes presented by NCC cadets.
