The Manipur Science and Technology Council (MASTEC) in association with Vigyan Prasar, Department of Science and Technology, New Delhi and DECU/ISRO, Ahmedabad has set up a 2 way Audio-Visual Satellite Interactive Terminal (SIT) at MASTEC complex, Takyelpat, Imphal under Vigyan Prasar EduSat Network to strengthen the science popularisation movement in the country, informed a press release issued by the executive director of MASTEC, Th Surendranath.
Many activities like quiz, lecture, demonstration, training etc based on varied issues/topics for different target groups, specially for middle school children are telecast every Tuesday during 10:00 am to 1:00 pm.
Special lectures/ demonstrations are also telecast in other week days from time to time, it mentioned.
Under the programme, special lecture series for students of class VIII to X will be telecast on September 6 on the topic "Why Poor Pluto is Not a Planet", 14th September on "Introduction to New Solar System" and 19th September on "What is Jantar Mantar ?", informed the release.
All interested individuals/students have been requested to report on every Sunday to join the programme.
All head of the academic institutions have also been requested to send a group of 5 students to witness the programme, it mentioned while intimating all interested individuals to contact programme co-ordinator Dr RK Pritamjit for details.
