Imphal, May 14 2010:
Even though the Manipur Secretariat Services Association has decided to suspend the cease work strike the, JAC of AMTUC and AMGEO on the other hand, which is spearheading the strike, has announced that the employees would go ahead with their demand for implementation of Central 6th Pay in totality even to the extent of mass resignation.
Addressing a press conference at the office of the Electricity Department, Keishampat today, secretary general of JAC of AMTUC and AMGEO Ch Chandramani denounced the threat of the Chief Minister to replace the striking employees as unfortunate and said that such threat would not deter the striking employees from pursuing their rightful
demand.
Announcing intensification of the ongoing agitation, Chandramani informed that employees would go for mass resignation very soon.
Rejecting the order issued by the Government in connection with implementation of 6th Pay Commission a few days earlier as a ploy, Chandramani said the order has no substance and the employees can never accept it.
While the press conference was underway, employees of the Electricity Dept staged a protest demonstration within their office complex.
