Expressing concern over the Association of the distributors not having an office of its own, Sotinkumar opined that the Association needs to have its own premanent office to make it strongers.
He further informed the distributors that requests had already been made to the Minister concerned to give an office to the AMNSDA at the Night Shelter Home proposed to be constructed at Nagaram opposite the Khuman Lampak Bus Terminus.
If the authority gives consent to the request, the distributors/hawkers from far away places will be able to reduce the inconveniences they are facing in trying to find accomodation.
Praising the distributors' association for its 25 years' existence, RK Ranendrajit said, the role being taken by the distributors, who get up at midnight and distribute the newspapers, is just great.
He appealed to the distributors to be united and work tirelessly to achieve their goals.
A Mobi lamented that the holidays for the newspaper are too many.
There is only one holiday for the national newspapers, he said.
The Association presented simple gifts to the wives of Late L Kunje and L Bira of Lamshang, who had worked as distributors.
Those who attended the function stood in two minutes' silence in honour of the departed souls of the two distributors.
