Imphal, March 11: Bouyed by the success of community farming project, another project cultivation project was inaugurated today by 14 AR under the aegis of 27 sector and IG AR (S) at Tumnoupokpi village of Senapati district.

A PIB (DW) statement informed that under this project ginger worth Rs 40,000 was handed over to three women SHGs of the village which would be planted in a plot of nine acres.

The project which inaugurated by the village chief in presence of Brig JP Alex, Comdt GS Bedi and other civil dignitaries is expected to alleviate the economic status of many unemployed women, mentioned the statement.

Speaking on the occasion, Brig JP Alex disclosed that similar project at Lairouching has yielded a dividend of over one lakh rupees to many SHGs while reiterating that peace nd prosperity go hand in hand.
