Imphal, December 26 2009: The Taretkhul Nishabandh Committee has rejected the claim of the Imphal East SP Moirangthem Bobo was a UNLF cadre and that he was arrested by a team of Imphal East commandos from Top Khongnangkhong.

Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club here today, secretary of Taretkhul Nishabandh Committee S Maichol said that Bobo was a very humble and innocent civilian struggling to meet ends for his family.

A team of Imphal East commandos led by Inspector John cordoned the house of Bobo from half past noon till about 7 pm on December 16 before taking away Bobo.

During the period when his house was surrounded by commandos Bobo was doing his normal work at his home.

Conveying that the commandos did not speak any strong word, Maichol urged upon the authority to release Moirangthem Bobo at the earliest.
