The 3-day long annual conference of the Indian Society of Nephrology, East Zone, 2005 cum CME on chronic Kidney diseases has begun from today at Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS).
Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh and president of Indian Society of Nephrology, East Zone Dr RN Sahoo inaugurated the function as chief guest and president respectively at Jubilee Hall.
Minister of Health and Family Welfare L Nandakumar Singh, Director of RIMS Dr L Fimate and president of Indian Society of nephrology Dr A Kirpalani were also present at the occasion as guests of honour.
In his address, the Chief Minister pointed out that although Manipur is a small State with a population of 24 lakhs people, the problem of Kidney is rampant.
But with the opening up of a Nephrology unit at RIMS under the sponsorship of NEC following the efforts made by the Central and the State Gov the difficulties of the people has been minimised, he claimed.
