Imphal, November 16: The nationalist Youth Congress Manipur Pradesh has expressed strong resentment on SPF Government�s continued negligence of Bishnupur district in agricultural development.

A statement issued to the press by the NYC secretary decried denial of water pump sets to the district farmers when drought-like situation prevailed, insufficient supply of crop seeds under the drought relief package, non-supply of spraying pump, exclusion of the district from Central the sponsored Agriculture Technology Management Agency and the fact that only 10 percent of the district farmers had access to training programmes.

Alleging that SPF Government had been turning a blind eye to various other problems that had been hampering progress and prosperity of the farmer community in the district the NYC statement rued that callous attitude of the Government is having adverse impact on agricultural productivity as Bishnupur district still has the largest concentration of farmers in the State.
